I finished this in May 2011 and just never got around to posting it until now. Started it in my spare time near the end of my internship at Cuppa Coffee where I learned a couple tricks; I set it aside to concentrate on my 4th year film and didn't get to finishing it until after my 4th year at Sheridan. In other words, it’s been a long time coming, so it’s good to finally get it out there. My apologies about the quality of the pictures.

Animated during the first session of the eveing stop motion sessions that me and Jen Bamford are currently coordinating together with Chris Walsh's blessings. I shot him against a make-shift green screen and edited the green out afterwards in photoshop, then adjusted the colours to suit the background, which was also painted in photoshop. I used After Effects for the camera move and shadow behind him. The sounds are from the Sheridan sound library and were assembled in Premier.

If you are curious, this is the original video shot against the grean screen (although I still had to use photoshop to beef the colour because it was so faded before. Chris's digital camera's are good, but they're still obviously not as good as professional cameras. You may notice there is some extra footage at the end, think of it as my own deleted scenes, lol. I thought it was a stronger peice with just the 1st half.

Built in my spare time out of readily available and inexpensive materials: armature wire, epoxy putty, shredded foam stuffing, salvaged denim, stick tack and acrylic paint.

Here is the skeleton inside if you're curious. Didn't have access to proper facilites when I did this so I made due with a digital camera and a light disk to rotate on.

My Second walk. As you can see I got better. I'm especially proud because I did this in the afternoon on no sleep from pulling an all-nighter.

For this assignment, the cars had to follow this exact path, just miss each other on that exact frame and crash on that exact frame. I had to tailor my timing and performance to those specifications.

While I was working at Economical Insurance as a summer student, they liked it when I drew caricatures, so my resource manager two years ago requested that I caricature everyone in the service desk team. This copy you see here is from my last work term but has some in it that were done in the first term. So some caricatures are a lot better than others because I got better as I went (by the way, that one of me the the bottom right corner was actually done by Emslie, not me. you can probably tell).

These were done on sticky notes, most with a mechanical pencil. This was mostly to boost employee moral. I gave each employee the signed original and made a photocopy of each as I went. What you are looking has some generation loss, especially that one of Raghav in the middle, he smudged it before it got photocopied, lol.

Flour sack-cloud interaction

This was the final project in 1st year animatation at Sheridan. I have another version that is 12 seconds (the assignment's time limit cut-off). The 12 second version communicated fine, but I prefer my version without the time constraints because it has more opportunity for proper atmosphere and pacing.

For the assignment we all drew an item from the hat and had to convey a clear emotion from the flour sack. I picked a cloud out of the hat and so I went with sad and made it a rain cloud. The story was thought up by me and my friend Minh, we thought it would be funny if the cloud was one of those stereotypical rain clouds that form over depressed cartoon characters. The flour sack becomes annoyed with the cloud when it does not continue to follow him in his depressed state.
